We implement a comprehensive 'core curriculum' that incorporates learning in all curriculum areas and is based on the NZ Early Childhood Curriculum Te Whaariki. The programme includes Art, Dance, Drama, Literacy, Maths, Science, Technology, Sociel Science, Music, Health and Physical Education.
Teachers use a variety of different teaching strategies to plan, assess and evaluate, and follow a Project Approach to support and extend on children's learning and development. Children's learning is documented in their Individual Portfolios which are available for families to read and contribute to. We encourage children to work collaboratively with their teachers and value the inclusion of the child's own 'voice'.
Children are supported to engage with the curriculum as individuals and in groups, developing their cognitive, social, and physical skills. Throughout the centre there are lots of resources and activities from all curriculum areas for children to get involved in. Literacy and Numeracy learning is incorporated in all areas of the centre.
